Here's the deal, the mods became more trouble than the regular members, at that point what's the point of having mods?
USE THE BLOCK FUNCTION:
If someone says something you don't like, someone calls you a name, or they're playing music you don't like, BLOCK THEM! Now I understand that there are some cases where a person needs to be removed from the site, in those cases report them from their profile and they'll be dealt with if it's legit. Please don't report people for "starting drama", calling you a name, being a dick, playing music you don't like, not agreeing with you, not letting you see their webcam, or not chatting with you. I really don't care about those types of things and I'm not going to ban those people.
Seriously, some of you REALLY need to get a little thicker skin if you want to chat online with multiple people, not everyone is going to agree with you, like you, or kiss your ass. And yes, some people are only going into chat to get a rise out of thin skinned people that take what people say in a silly chat room waaaaaay too seriously. Have some of you ever wondered why it seems that those types of people always zero in on you? It's because they get a rise out of YOU while everyone else simply ignores the idiots, it's exactly what they want and you give it to them!
Let's look at this from my perspective for a minute:
Do you guys think I just woke up one morning and thought "Gee, I'd sure like to start a chat site so I can spend my time running a daycare for adults that act like they're 6, reading through emails and IM's about how so and so called somebody a bad name, so and so said the f word, or so and so is mean to me? Also, it got to a point where I couldn't even chat in the site anymore without using a different name where people didn't know me, as soon as I'd log into chat I'd instantly get blasted with "make me a mod, why can't I be a mod" pm's. Then shortly after being blasted with that I'd get blasted from mods complaining about other mods. I could never even see the regular chat screen, it was all just pm's about mods. It's just not worth it in my book. The mods are supposed to show good judgment and act with a bit of professionalism, the majority of them rarely showed either. It just all got too silly and out of hand, it all just turned into who could boss who around and that's not what mods are supposed to be about. I posted things in the mod group on how I expected mods to act and when and how they were supposed to handle things but most of the mods either never read them or simply ignored them. I know that not all mods were like this, some did a great job for the most part, but it's at a point where I'm just done with the whole mess.
I will most likely bring a few mods back eventually, but I doubt I ever make regular members mods again, it just doesn't work. Instead it will most likely be people I get locally to do it that I hire, I'd rather pay someone than go through all that nonsense again. So everyone that is holding their breath that they're going to be mods again soon can probably forget the idea. Nobody on this site is more important than anyone else and it's going to stay that way. I've got enough politics to deal with in real life without having every single person in chat running for modship, backstabbing each other trying to be the king mod lol.
Everyone that wants to leave because they don't get to strut around chat and act more important than everyone else anymore are free to do so. For many of you it might be worth spending the money to chat somewhere like PalTalk where they have dedicated babysitters round the clock to hold your hand for you. The hand holding and coddling is done here, this isn't day care anymore. Really, if you lack social skills, a social site is probably not the place for you to be.
(Also, why was this thread started in the "Books" section? I'm moving it to "OohYa Chat Help".)

sf i understand what your saying but group punishment isnt the answer, more of telling people to suck it up and deal with it is, and picking mods that actually dont put up with the shit starters bs would do wonders,it was getting to the point where there were waaaayy to many mods and for what reason? i did everything you asked and feel like i was punishied. I know first hand that there are people coming to me saying that I was one of the best mods ever, regaurdless of the complaints, those were the thin shkinned shit starters. I say pick your mods and back them up and trust them, if someone want to whine about them tell them to deal with it or leave. I definantly wouldnt have anyone work for me that I didnt trust fully!!! mods are needed but yes I agree there are those that have power and control issues, but I cant stand going where some dickhead can run his mouth about some of the good people and nothing can be done!
that being said I hope I see green soon again to maintain the peace.
and mustangsally is person that talks out of two sides of her mouth and is one of the shit starters. she has a problem with people giving respect, well act like a person that deserves it and you will get it. If you didnt notice thats a period!

Dear Mr. Big.
From what I've seen, you cause drama just as much as anyone else. I've ALSO seen you abuse your power and I disagree with the "I was one of the best mods ever" statement you made. In my opinion, you were one of the worst.
You creep around the ladies and I've seen you posting pictures in chat of a certain member here, isn't that against the rules?
Again with the "I cant stand going where some dickhead can run his mouth about some of the good people and nothing can be done!" Use the block button!! Trust me, it is not that hard.
JoAnna.

Mr Big, isn't trying to start a flame war with Sally in the forum kind of starting shit? I know who's done what and who's accused who of doing what, I'm the one that gets the reports. This is exactly why we no longer have mods, the backstabbing, taddle-taling, arguing, name calling, and ego trips were all too much, all of this from the people that are supposed to be moderating the rooms, not starting the trouble themselves.
Please read the following definition and tell me if anyone believes these define our moderators:
Definition of moderator: One that arbitrates or mediates
Definition of mediate:
1. To resolve or settle (differences) by working with all the conflicting parties: mediate a labor-management dispute.
2. To bring about (a settlement, for example) by working with all the conflicting parties.
3. To effect or convey as an intermediate agent or mechanism.
v.intr.
1. To intervene between two or more disputants in order to bring about an agreement, a settlement, or a compromise.
2. To settle or reconcile differences.
3. To have a relation to two differing persons or things.
adj. (-t)
1. Acting through, involving, or dependent on an intervening agency.
2. Being in a middle position.
I even made Jakester an admin to try and moderate the moderators since he was one of the most laid back mods we had. He went from a laid back person to an increasingly frustrated angry person having to deal with the constant nonsense. A person that is supposed to moderate the moderators really shouldn't have to do much I'm sure you would all agree.
I didn't get rid of the mods as a punishment, I got rid of them because they became more of a headache than they were worth. I'm not making any regular members mods again, bottom line, it's just not going to happen. Again, it's not a punishment, it just simply doesn't work so it doesn't make sense to keep them.
