To view someone's profile in a chat room simply left click on the person's username and click on the "Profile" link.
(We are currently working on a bug in the chat profile system, we apologize for the problem and hope to have it resolved soon)

The same process goes for ignoring a user in chat as well as adding a user to your buddy list.
